Motherload / Moral Crux split 7"

Motherload / Moral Crux split 7"
1994

Side A (Motherload)
Lack
King Bola

Side B (Moral Crux)
Waiting For A Bomb
Single Bullet Homicide

Motherload was from Spokane and Moral Crux was from Moses Lake. Never actually saw Motherload but I saw Moral Crux a couple times.
Dubbed from my 7" copy bought at, again, 4000 Holes.

addendum: Looks like I HAVE seen some members of Motherload live! Brian Parnell plays in Storm Large's band Storm and the Balls who I've seen... I don't even know how many times here in Portland. Also, Scott is in a band called SK and the Punk Ass Bitches, who I have also seen play live here in Portland on several occassions. Who knew?

addendum2: A CD of Motherload recordings just popped up on the excellent Very Small Records blog. Check it out.

  2. Moses Lake, not Medical Lake, and both bands still exist!

  3. That's great to hear! I have another Motherload 7" and I used to have a CD of Bucktooth Dream, so I was totally aware of them. Someone I knew met one of those guys working at the Garland theater I think and got a copy of said CD. That's how I heard about them. I just never managed to make it to a show.
Thanks for the info and I'll be sure to put up links to their respective myspaces or whatever they have going on! :)

  4. I put out the the Buck Toothed Dream CD on my Trench Records label way back in 1993. Very Small will likely post the songs soon.

It was Scott Kellogg who worked at the Garland Theater. He currently plays in a band in Seattle called Hell's Half Acre. Bandmembers include Dee from the Fumes, Dave from Steel Wool, Jim Collier (who's recorded a bunch of bands through the years) and another guy whose name escapes me.

If you have any 7-inches on the Trench label (Fumes, Flies, Mother Load, etc.), please don't post them--I'll be posting them on my own blog in a couple weeks. I'll be sure to pass along the link.

    Thanks.

  5. I have Fumes, Flies, Motherload, Velvet Pelvis, and Boycott 7"s all of which seem to be released by Trench. Definitely let me know and I'll send people over there when you get them posted. I had already posted the Boycott 7" a while back, but I've deleted the download link and will link that post over to your blog when/if you put it up. I'd WAY rather people be able to get it from the original source than from a burn of my 7" copy. Also, thanks for just having a label in Spokane that released local bands. I was an impressionable teen back in those days and all of this stuff really was inspiration for me as a musician.

  6. Thanks for you kind words and for your loyal support. Doing a label was indeed a labor of love. None of the records sold particularly well, but that wasn't the point. Putting music out for your friends was what it was all about. Getting the music out there on some neat little artifact. If I could still afford to, I'd be releasing new records today. That these records made an impression on you--so much the better; definitely validates my efforts.

By the way, your copy of Boycott looks a little beat-up. I'd be happy to send you a new copy (I still have about 15 copies of the 500 that were pressed). And let me know about your Fumes and Flies 7-inches; if yours are a little worse for the wear, I can send those as well. Address?

    Cheers.
